Owner/Operator/Manager at Past Ur Time Farm
In 2013, after 20 years in corporate America, I traded in my heels and dry cleaned dress suits for steel-toed cowboy boots and “farm” jeans. My husband, Steve (aka “the Man”) and I left the burbs and bought a 100 acre working farm in beautiful and scenic western North Carolina. Between us, we had zero farming experience, had never driven a tractor, maybe owned a handful of basic tools and were perfectly manicured. Oh, how we’ve evolved! And are still evolving every day.
Over the years we’ve had a multitude of opportunities to learn about a variety of topics including rural life, farming, livestock, sustainability and ourselves. Now, at 50 and Steve at 62, we know anything is possible. Not all of it easy or without pain, but all of it memorable and worthwhile.
